A Cookbook For Me
By Mrs. Abel
I couldn’t find a cookbook I liked, so I put my own together—a cookbook for people like me who use paper towels instead of napkins and wouldn’t know what a garlic press is if they got caught in one.
I want people to spend less time in the kitchen and more time with the family.
Eddie and I raised four boys (all are doing quite well, thank you). Money was tight, but the food was good, tasty, and wholesome. Never be afraid to experiment with food—if it doesn’t kill you, it will make you stronger is the way I look at it.
Good food for good people. That’s what this cookbook is all about.
I want to dedicate this book to St. Martha, a favorite of mine.
One day Christ and all his disciples visited the home of Mary and Martha. It was lunchtime. Martha immediately went into the kitchen and prepared a meal for her unexpected guests.
She didn’t receive any miracles. She didn’t complain about the extra work or the change in her plans.
Nothing is known about Martha except one fact: She served the Lord.
We do that everyday.
