Miscellany — Or Aunt Minnie’s Attic This is my favorite part of the website because, like Aunt Minnie’s attic, it is a fun place to explore. You never know what you may find. Her attic was full of boxes, full and half-full; odds and ends of furniture, in good condition and not; and stuff in general. Aunt Minnie had one trunk neatly labeled: “Things I don’t know what to do with.” You just knew that in all that clutter there had to be one hidden treasure with your name on it. Such it is with Miscellany. Good hunting. These were her favorites. Here are . . . two recipes I got from Hilda Hathaway, a friend of mine from the old days. She got them from her Mennonite grandmother. Hilda said her grandmother did not believe that recipes are sacred. She used what was in the cupboard, how much time and money she had, and whether she liked you or not. If she liked you, you got a fluffy omelet. If not, dry scrambled eggs. And here are some more recipes I just like!
