Easy Shepherds Pie |
|
1 ½ pound hamburger or chicken |
1 can tomato paste |
2 cans green beans |
1 cup shredded cheese—any kind |
Mashed potatoes |

Cook meat, add tomato paste and mix. Put mixture in bottom of deep casserole. Layer green beans and cheese. Cover top with mashed potatoes—instant works fine. Leave hole in center for steam to escape. Heat in 350 degree oven until bubbly. Remove and let stand 10 to 15 minutes. Serves 4 to 6. |
Smoked Sausage Surprise |

1 pack smoked sausage |
2 to 3 potatoes |
1 green pepper |
1 small onion |
½ cup cheese (your choice) |

| Cut sausage into slices and boil until grease is boiled out—about 5 to 8 minutes. Drain. Fry potatoes, cut into small chunks, in large skillet. Add sliced pepper and onion. Add sausage and cook until potatoes are done, abut 15 to 20 minutes. Sprinkle cheese on top right before serving. Serves 4 to 6. (Try 1 to 2 cups of cooked rice instead of potatoes.) |
Lightning Chicken Stew |

1 10 ounce can chicken (drained) |
1 can mushroom soup (do not dilute) |
1 14.5 ounce can green beans (drained) |
1 cup milk |
Add seasonings, a little hot sauce is fine. Cook over medium heat until hot, about 15 to 20 minutes. Serves 4.

Mac ‘n’ Cheese Fix Up |
|
½ pound hamburger, cooked and drained |
1 (14 ounce) package macaroni and cheese |
1/3 cup taco sauce |

Fix macaroni and cheese according to package directions. Add hamburger and sauce. Heat through. Serves 4. |
Macaroni and Tomato Pie |
|
1 cup cooked macaroni |
2 cups stewed tomatoes |
1 ¼ cup shredded cheese |
¼ cup bread crumbs |
Grease a 9-inch pie pan and line sides and bottom with macaroni. Pour in tomatoes. Add favorite seasoning. Sprinkle cheese and bread crumbs on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until crumbs are brown. Serves 4. |
